How to use symbols?

To use - just copy-paste symbols that you like.

Right-to-left

Notice that there are some right-to-left written symbols here, and if you put them - characters you put after them may appear before them. Tricky ones ^.^

I see ☐'s and ?'s

Some facebook symbols may not appear on some browsers/systems. They may show up as squares (boxes), or ?'s.

On my system I found Firefox and Opera displaying most symbols, Safari showing (only a bit) smaller number of symbols, Chrome even less and Internet Explorer on Windows less than 7.. entirely out-of-the-league. If you have XP, or less, I guess you should get Chrome, or Firefox.

"Combos"

Also, strangely, it seems like some symbols can form "combos" (like in video games) =) and don't work if you put them one after another. So if you see some of your symbols turning into squares after you have put some new symbol into the input field - that might be a problem. To solve it just press "Ctrl" + "Z" and don't put these troublemaker symbols. Or put them in a first place, or well, it looks like they work if you put them in separate lines.

Doesn't work right:

Works right:
"ૅ.ે
=➚"

Remember, that you may not see all the symbols anyway, and that's okay. Though, if you won't see A LOT of them - you'll have to get another system or take a look at the next answer.

Are there compatible facebook symbols?

You are experiencing problems with symbols not showing up? You should better take a look at Alt Codes, or Keyboard symbols if you're running OS other than Windows. Those are ASCII symbols. They work on absolutely all systems.

Alt keyboard codes?

You can input ASCII symbols right from your keyboard. Do this using Alt Codes. In this way you can write a part of facebook symbols that is visible on any system. You can make ASCII art using these characters.

Big font on Facebook?

It seems like there is no way to style your text in facebook profile. Seems that you won't be able to make your text symbols bigger on facebook. Neither to paint them with the color you want. Maybe in notes or something..

On this website I make them larger using CSS and HTML's "span" and "large" tags. You can make symbols bigger on MySpace in the same way. If you run a blog - you can enlarge them in your WYSIWYG editor there.

On my web site?

If you want to post facebook symbols to your html-based website you may need to Enty tool - Escape special HTML / JavaScript character entities. You may not need it, if you are just running a blog, or something that uses some "engine". But if you have an html site that you edit in text editors then use my tool. If you're posting symbols to your website, it would be great, if you'd credit me with a link, but that's you choice. ≧^◡^≦

Save symbols locally?

Right-click on the page with symbols and choose "Save as..." and then choose a place where you want to save them.

How come when I try to put in greek symbols they change to the lowercase equivalent?

No idea.. Check your Caps Lock and stuff. Don't know about any other possible reason.

is there anyway to make a pot leaf symbol using only computer keys?

Nope. This symbol isn't implemented into Unicode. Meaning, it doesn't actually exist.. =)

How can I make a marijuana leaf out of the Alt codes?

Nope. You can't type it in any way, sorry. =\

If you mean the word "rainbow" then use Encool tool - generate cool text with symbols, is you mean the rainbow itself, then make an ASCII art like the ones in Text Art for Facebook, Myspace and Google+ with my symbols.

I would like a small guitar symbol to use on FB. I tried over and over to make one but I can't seem to make one. I would love it if you could offer some music instruments to use if that is possible. Thanks, Brenda.

Now there exists no symbols for music instruments. But you can find several guitars in my Text Art for Facebook, Myspace and Google+.

I've been using alt code symbols for a couple years, but now I hear that some people are using symbols that I don't get like the star and peace symbols. Near the top of this page All text symbols for Facebook ϡ there's this text: "Collection of cool computer text symbols. All facebook symbols. ❤ ♥ ❥ My large hand-made list of more than a hundred cool characters. Truly amazing! ヅツッ" I see a heart with a box on each side, and three boxes at the end. I have Windows XP. Are these symbols only viewed on newer systems? Can I upgrade my symbols some how? Also, even I could see them and use them, would I want to knowing that many people will just see boxes? I would think that it would take some time for a majority of people to be upgraded.

I hope things have changed and now work out fine for you since the time have passed and things generally got better. =)
